Coconut Oil Pulling

For the past two or three months, I have been oil pulling with organic coconut oil. For those of you who have never heard of this here’s a link with more information: Oil Pulling

Basically it is where you take anywhere from a teaspoon to a tablespoon of coconut (or sesame or olive) oil and swish it in your mouth for 15-20 minutes. There are many benefits to doing this once a day. I have noticed whiter teeth and less sensitive gums/teeth. Also, less acne/break outs. I don’t always have the time to do it every single day, but I try to do it most days and usually end up doing it 4-6 times a week. I fell upon the idea one day on a blog post that my cousin shared via Facebook. At first I thought it was crazy, and believe me the first few times trying it were rough, but now I am used to it and it has become a habit of mine. I make it a part of my morning routine, and definitely do it before eating is my recommendation. I am glad my cousin Shawna shared this on facebook since I love coconut oil pulling and I feel like it is helping me in multiple ways, maybe even in ways I don’t notice. 🙂
