Pull ups: Beginning point

Over the past few weeks I have been trying to work on my pull ups and push ups. Currently, I cannot do a single pull up from the starting point of dangling. I am doing pull-up negatives, where I start with my chin above the bar and then slowly lower myself down. I am also holding myself half-way for a few seconds at a time. I hope over time I will be able to do a single pull up. From there, I hope to be able to do more and more pull ups.

As for push ups, I have been doing full, all the way to the ground push ups with the help of Vince holding a resistance band so that I don’t fall on the ground. So far I have been able to do two sets of ten push ups in this fashion. I hope to increase the amount of sets and hopefully build up to be able to do full push ups without the help of the resistance band.
